Trust Information Series The Department of Housing and Urban Development maintains a website at its Office of Lead Hazard Control, which is committed to the goal of providing lead-safe housing while preserving affordable housing. The website contains a comprehensive listing of the resources available to aid in the abatement of lead based paint products. The Office of Pollution Preservation and Toxics at The Environmental Protection Agency also maintains a website on lead abatement. The Maine Department of Environmental Protection has posted an Information Sheet on the Safe Removal of Lead-Based Paint, written in Sept. 1977.
